Project planning guide
Planning a travertine pool deck replacement
Compare material samples, retained coping and replacement scope before choosing a travertine pool deck.
This page provides planning information, not a record or photo gallery of completed work by Perfect Pavers of Palm Beach.
Define the replacement boundary
Mark the existing surface to be removed, the coping that will stay, and the transitions to doors, steps and walkways. Ask the proposal to distinguish removal and disposal from preparation and installation. A finished-surface photograph does not establish those hidden parts of the scope.
Identify the exact material
Compare a physical sample beside the retained coping and house. Record the manufacturer, product, finish, dimensions and pattern in the proposal. Ask for product-specific guidance on poolside use and care; the word travertine alone does not establish temperature, traction or maintenance performance.
Discuss access and adjoining work
Show the contractor how materials and removed surfaces can reach the work area. Identify screens, irrigation, landscaping and pool equipment that need protection or separate work. Confirm responsibilities for drainage assessment and any applicable approvals before scheduling.
Prepare for the estimate
Bring photographs of the current deck, approximate dimensions, material preferences and any association requirements. Request a written scope with exclusions and scheduling assumptions. Size, price and duration depend on the assessed property; this guide does not quote a completed installation.
Discuss your property
Review our pool deck installation service and bring your questions to a site visit. We can discuss the requested work and what information is needed for a property-specific proposal.
